How to Play Solitaire Klondike
Solitaire Klondike is the classic solitaire card game everyone knows. The goal: build all four foundations from Ace to King, each foundation holding one suit. You have seven tableau piles with alternating red and black cards, a stock pile to draw from, and four foundation slots to fill.
Drag cards to arrange them in descending order with alternating colors on the tableau. Move completed sequences to foundations. Draw from the stock when you're stuck. Clear the board to win.
Solitaire Tips
- Always play from the stock first: Before moving cards between tableau piles, see what the stock reveals — it might change your strategy
- Empty columns are gold: An empty tableau column can only be filled by a King — create empty columns strategically
- Uncover face-down cards ASAP: Prioritize moves that reveal hidden tableau cards — they unlock more options
- Don't rush to fill foundations: Sometimes keeping cards on the tableau gives you more flexibility for sequencing

How to Get Better at Solitaire Klondike
- Build alternating-color runs evenly: Don't let one tableau pile grow to 12 cards while others sit at 2 — keeping piles balanced gives you more move options when you are stuck
- Delay moving cards to foundations sometimes: When you are close to revealing a face-down card, keep a useful card on the tableau for one extra turn — that revealed card could be the King you need for an empty column
- Remember what you passed: As you cycle through the stock, mentally note which cards went by — knowing that the Queen of Hearts passed 5 draws ago tells you when it will come back around
- Kings are not always the answer: An empty column is powerful, but filling it with a King locks that column until you move the entire stack — sometimes leaving a column with a Queen is more flexible
